D’banj’s secret wedding may have been inspired by the lifestyle of American singer R. Kelly.
Last weekend several reports claimed the ‘Fall in love’ singer had his nuptial vows with an alleged 25-year old Didi Kilgrow.
Looking back to an exclusive interview with Thenetng seven months ago where Bangalee said he was secretly married but kept quiet about it, like R. Kelly did till it was revealed ’15 years’ later.
Truth be told, in August 1994 Kelly secretly married singer Aaliyah – then 15-year-old – in Cook County conducted by Reverend Nathan J. Edmond from Chicago, but the relationship only lasted for two years.
The bond was declared void in February 1995 at the bidding of late Aaliyah’s family by a Michigan judge, according to Vibe and the Chicago Sun-Times,
And also in 1996 Kelly walked down the aisle for second time with Andrea Kelly, his former backup dancer and mother to his three children – their divorce was finalized in 2009.
