Solange features common on the “cranes in the sky” remix

 

If we asked you “Which rapper would you like to see on a remix of Solange’s ‘Cranes in the Sky’” you would be hardpressed to find a good answer. For starters, not many rappers are worthy of featuring on the track. No offence meant whatsoever, but hearing “2 Chaaaaainnnz” just after the second chorus wouldn’t quite fit, would it?

No. It would not.

For this song, you would need someone more calm, conscious and cool. Someone whose voice helps tell the story from a different angle. And hey, it would to be someone pretty big; “Cranes…” is already one of the biggest songs of the year. Which is why it simply worked that Common decided to remix the track and give it a little bit of his sensual flavour.

 

The Chicago-born wordsmith spat us one of his finest verses and did justice to an excellent song. Listen to the remix below:
