The most followed celebrity on Instagram, Selena Gomez is currently battling depression and has checked into rehab, according to new reports.
Selena announced on August 30 that she was taking a break to manage ‘anxiety, panic attacks and depression’, and the 24-year-old is reportedly undergoing treatment at a facility in Tennessee.
‘Selena is dealing with lupus, but this break is to focus on her mental health. She can go to a very dark place,’ a source close to the pop star is quoted as saying to Us Weekly.
Since the announcement, Selena hasn’t worked on any new music and has also cancelled 34 remaining dates on her Revival world tour as a result.
‘She was supposed to be recording, but she hasn’t told anyone when she’ll be back in studio,’ the source revealed.
Selena, who boasts of 101 million Instagram followers, hasn’t posted
on social media in the past two months. That last post has however
gotten almost 900,000 comments along with 3.1 million likes.
