Last Saturday 26th November 2016, New Orleans rapper Dwayne Michael Carter Jr a.k.a Lil Wayne was billed for Curacao’s SummerFall Concert alongside Fat Joe and Yo Gotti. It never happened. As he never showed up. Some people alleged he had another seizure. Other sources from his team say the show was cancelled because of business reasons, an apparent breach of contract. But if you listen below, he pointed out: “they had problems waking me up”.
Be that as it may, this is another A List concert cancelled due to either health reasons or whatever reason cited. This raises questions as to what actually A&R teams are doing to forestall these cancellations.
But some consolation is definitely coming the way of Weezy Fans as he announced in an exclusive interview on The Nine Club with Chris Roberts (and his co-hosts Roger Bagley and Kelly Hart) that he is working on a new project tagged ‘Funeral’. After hints of a possible Roc Nation deal which had fans reeling in expectation, yesterday a video of Weezy’s interview on The Nine Club youtube channel was released showing Tunechi (as he is popularly called) telling his fans, “that Funeral coming soon, get your roses ready’.
A calm Wayne further said “I don’t have a release date, but I have a whole bunch of good news coming soon…if you are a Wayne fan, I know we been going through tough times right now, but if you’re a Wayne fan, we bout to hold our heads high.”
