Did AY really need to make that Headies joke on live TV?

Comedian, Ayo Makun, who was called on stage to present the Next Rated award, made an inappropriate joke about giving head, on live television.
In his words, ‘We know some of you have come to give head … ‘
What on earth was he thinking saying that on live TV?

And the reaction from the audience summed it up as everyone was mute.
That would be expected as they all had just finished cheering Wizkid who made his way to the venue at the time AY was presenting the award.
A joke about Wizkid or simply getting on with it would have sufficed, or what do you think?
