Davido is one of the busiest Nigerian artistes in December 2016 and you can’t deny. The singer may have survived the first and second quarter of the year with music collaborations, but he’s on top of his game as we approach 2017.
Davido – who released his Son of Mercy EP in November – recently toured London and Amsterdam before arriving Nigeria for Christmas, last weekend. He also staged a show at Bataclan – one of the scenes of the Paris attack – during the tour.
Since arriving Nigeria, the ‘Coolest Kid in Africa’ has performed at almost all the biggest December events in Lagos, including The Future Awards Africa where he got Osun State governor, Rauf Aregbesola grooving to one of his hit songs, ‘Skelewu’.
He also performed on stage with US hip-hop group, Migos at the 2016 Beat FM Christmas Party.
Meanwhile, DJ Jimmy Jatt, DJ Spinall, Skales, Jaywon, May D and more were present at his Industry Nite on December 21 at the Grand BallRoom of Oriental Hotel in Victoria Island.
Davido continued his December reign at the 2016 Rhythm Unplugged concert where he stepped on stage with hypeman, Special ED and they both delighted his fans with the performance of ‘Dami Duro’, ‘Gobe’, ‘Dodo’, ‘Osinachi’, and ‘Bahd Baddo Baddest’.
The ‘Gbagbe Oshi’ singer is also expected to perform at the 2016 One Lagos Fiesta, which kicked off on Christmas Eve. The concert is planned to hold for 300 hours across five locations in the state.
Other artistes getting as many shows as Davido this December are Falz, Olamide andHumblesmith, while Wizkid recently made his stage comeback despite doctors’ orders to cancel all his scheduled shows in December 2016 and January 2017 over ill health.
Earlier this month, Davido revealed someone is practicing ‘juju’ on him via Snapchat, but it looks like the black magic has done him more good than harm.
