Rapsody has reunited with Kendrick Lamar on “Power,” a track from her Laila’s Wisdom project which arrives Friday. Rapsody and Kendrick notably collaborated on To Pimp A Butterfly’s “Complexion ( A Zulu Love).” On the new track, both Kendrick and new TDE signee Lance Skiiiwalker are present, suggesting that Rapsody has formed a special bond with Lamar and his labelmates.
Rapsody spoke of her chemistry with Kendrick in a Complex interview. “I can’t speak for Kendrick, but for me one thing is, outside of being my peer, I’m also a fan,” she said. “Outside of being an artist, I’m a fan of music and I’m a fan of Kendrick. I listened to all his projects and you get to know the person through their music, especially when their music is as honest and as personal as Kendrick makes his music. Anytime I do something, with Kendrick or Ab-Soul or Big K.R.I.T.
