Kehlani has had a pretty solid 2017
thusfar. While she’s been around sine 2014 and dropped two mixtapes
since then, her debut album was the project she needed to solidify
herself as an artist in this landscape. It might be because she’s put
her vulnerability out in the open for everyone to see. However, those
same moments correlate to the music she releases, giving everything she
does a much more personal touch.
Kehlani’s vocals to shine brighter than
the production. While Kehlani’s strength as a songwriter is her honesty,
she continues to use that to her advantage while she expresses the love
that she has for her best-friend-turned-girlfriend. It’s another
detailed song through the eyes of Kehlani. It’s a change of pace
compared to what she offered on her album.
