  • The 5 times Wizkid has ‘failed’ to turn-up for shows

    Two days ago, a UK-based event company, Humble Entertainment, organisers of the Safari Night gigs accused Nigerian pop star Wizkid and his management of failing to perform at its event despite being paid.

    This is not the first the first time the pop star has been accused of ‘stabbing’ or refusing to perform at a show.

    Some of his previous and similar controversies include:

    • On Wednesday, November 23, 2011 sudents of the University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (UNAAB) raised alarm on social media when Wizkid failed to show up for an advertised GTCrea8 eSavers Campus Concert

    • In October 2015, Adamawa State-based institution, American University of Nigeria, Yola, in a series of tweets alleged that they paid Wizkid to come and perform in the school but he refused to show up. The school later disclosed Wizkid was never paid for the event and he also didn’t agree on a date with them.


    • In June 2013, students of University of Lagos dragged Wizkid Zone 2 Command of the Nigeria Police Force, Onikan, Lagos claiming he was paid to perform in their school but failed to show up. It was later found out that the students had been dealing with an impostor.


    • In April 2016, Wizkid’s maiden concert in Zimbabwe flooped was the singer failed to show up at the venue of the concert at Old Hararians Sports Club even though he was in the country.

    All these has however not stopped Wizkid from performing and selling out shows at stadiums across the world.

    In June 2015, he’ll join Chris Brown on his ‘One Hell of a Tour’ across Europe.
