Jhene Aiko on her new Trip duet with Swae Lee. Judging by the features on the album, which Jhene released as a surprise to fans Friday, she’s as particular about her collaborators as her weed. Outside of her father Dr. Chill and daughter Namiko Love, Aiko has enlists two vets of their respective lanes.
Swae has demonstrated his versatility as a hook man not only on Rae Sremmurd’s material, but also across a few recent features, including the dancehall-inflected “Unforgettable” with French Montana. On “Sativa,” he’s brought into Aiko’s murky R&B world, which is not too far off from something like SremmLife 2.
